The EYES committee will be selling Easter candy grams at lunch in the student store today, Tuesday, and Wednesday in support of Easter Seals. Send an Easter gram to someone and support a great cause.
Charlottetown Rural Poetry Slam: In celebration of April being National Poetry Month, Charlottetown Rural will be hosting a Poetry Slam on Wednesday, April 30th at 3:40 p.m. in Room 325.
Slammers should have two poems ready. Everyone will have the opportunity to present one poem then the top five slammers will perform a second poem. You do not need to have your poems memorized, but you should have rehearsed reading them so you can perform them fluently. There will be no props or costumes or music or microphones. Just you and your voice.
If you are interested in being part of the Poetry Slam, see Ms. Becker in Room 325 (all morning, at lunch, or after school) by Thursday, April 17th.
Students are also welcome to attend the Poetry Slam as audience members as long as there is space.
Writers, time to shine!! Our school newspaper, the Raidar, is organizing an annual writing contest. Contestants can submit either one of the two prompts, which is an original horror story or a piece of poetry on any theme. There will be one overall winner and two runners-up, if you interested in signing up, please get a copy of The Raidar newspaper from the cafeteria to get more information.
