We’re excited to announce an information meeting today at 11:30 AM in the Lecture Theatre for any students interested in joining the Stage Crew for this year’s Charlottetown Rural Musical, happening in May! We’re looking for about 8 dedicated students who are eager to help with a variety of behind-the-scenes tasks. No on stage acting required… but you’ll still be a huge part of making the show come alive!

Wits and Words Poetry Slam: The slam will take place from 6:30-8:30 on Thursday, April 16th at The Gallery Coffee House & Bistro on Great George Street in Charlottetown. This will be a celebration of student poetry (not a contest). Students who would like to participate should have two poems ready to perform. Everyone will get to perform one poem. Performances of the second poems will depend on time.
Poems should not take more than 3 minutes to perform. No props, costumes, music, etc. – just you and your voice. There will be a mic to ensure that everyone can be heard. The poems must be your original work, and the language should be school appropriate. Every poet who performs will receive written feedback from a panel of poetry experts (our non-judgy judges) and will receive a small gift. Any students who plan on participating in the Poetry Slam need to see Ms. Becker in Room 325 by the end of this week (Friday, May 27th) to confirm your participation.
